CEREBROVASCULAR
Possible symptoms:
- Asymptomatic neck bruit for baseline evaluation.
- Cerebrovascular accident (CVA), Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Residual Ischemic Neurologic Deficit (RIND).
- Neurological symptoms such as dizziness, memory loss, syncope, amaurosis fugax, parasthesia, and limb weakness.
- Acute Unilateral Painless Blindness (Central Retinal Artery Occlusion) after evaluation by an opthalmologist.
Procedures Performed:
- A DIRECT DOPPLER examination will reveal the specific location of bruits in the carotid system.
- DUPLEX SCANNING will be performed on all symptomatic patients for further pictorial evaluation of stenotic lesions and ulcerative plaques.
- VELOCITY MEASUREMENTS examine blood flow determinants toward the brain.
